Affiliate Marketing - 3 Main Reasons Why You Are F

Affiliate Marketing means to sell other peoples' products for them and in return you will receive a percentage of the sale price. This means that you get a portion of the profits for a fraction of the work. However, many people online today are failing to make Dollar one online using affiliate marketing tactics and I am often asked by my subscribers why it is they are failing. As such I have felt that this article needed to be written to help those of you out there who are taking those first steps but finding that the path runs out.

Firstly, many affiliate marketers out there promote countless amounts of different products hoping that they are going to make countless amounts of sales. This is really not the case, why should you trust someone who is claiming at 10am that they have found this 'Awesome!' software only to receive another email 5 hours later off the same affiliate, claiming the same things but about a different product? Your subscribers need educating about a product, they want to know how it will help them in their online ventures. If you do this in your promos then you will see results overshadowing the affiliates who promote 3-5 different products a day hoping to may 3-5 times more profits.

Secondly, if you do not carry out any research on either the product or the product creator how do you know what you are promoting? This is a huge and potentially costly mistake, you MUST carry out research on both the product and its creator, which isn't as hard as you may think. To carry out research on a product simply do a search online for the product name followed by review and you will find many different reviews on this product and how good it actually is. As for the product creator simply search for his/her name and find out what they have been up to and how their other products have been perceived online. If any of these searches return information which doesn't leave the product or its creator in a good light then I would advise not to promote it, otherwise you risk losing your hard earned reputation in the space of 1 or 2 promotional emails.

Lastly, but possibly the biggest mistake there is, you must not use copy and paste tactics. I'll say that again, do NOT use copy and paste tactics. What I mean by this is do not simply visit the product's affiliate page and copy and paste their email swipe copy and hit send without editing it in the slightest. You must stand out from the crowd. Put yourself in the shoes of the subscriber, it is launch day and you have received 5 emails about the same product, the first 4 or carbon copies with each other and they all have the exact same spelling mistake in the subject! Then, the 5th email has a totally different subject, their spelling and grammar is perfect and they are educating you about the product. Which affiliate link would you click? I am pretty sure we have all arrived at the same answer. By all means use this email copy as a template for you to write your own, just make sure if your email looks like it is promoting a different product from the swipe copy.

Now that you know these 3 reasons why you are failing as an affiliate, it is time to do something about it and you will then watch those affiliate commission fly through the roof!
